Top 10 fundraising ideas
Don’t worry if you don't feel up to running a marathon or jumping out of a plane. The possibilities for fundraising are endless and don’t always require high levels of fitness or bravery! There are a whole range of tried and tested fundraising activities and many of them are easy and cheap to do and are suitable for a variety of ages and abilities.
Have a look at our 'Top 10' fundraising ideas below. These are just a few suggestions to help you get started so if you can't see the right activity for you, or have your own ideas, then let us know! Whichever activity you choose to get involved in our Fundraising team will be on hand to offer you support.

- Display a collection tin - Ask us for one of our branded collection tins to take into your workplace, community centre, etc.
- Ask for donations instead of presents - Set up an online JustGiving page for a special occasion (birthday, wedding etc...) and ask people to donate instead of buying you present.
- Host a charity dinner party - Visit the Dinner4Good website and organise your own charity dinner party.
- Organise a dress down day - Ask your workplace or local school to hold a dress down day in return for a small donation from staff/pupils.
- Give a talk - Give a talk to a local group about a hobby or area of expertise and ask for donations.
- Hold a coffee morning and bake sale - invite friends and family to come round for coffee to buy home made cakes and biscuits.
- Organise a car boot sale or ‘bring and buy’ sale - Encourage friends, family and neighbours to donate unwanted goods to sell.
- Host a raffle or auction - Find a local pub, social or sports club venue and ask a local business, celebrity, author or artist to donate a prize.
- Run a quiz or bingo night - Run a quiz night either at home or at a local venue, and donate each team’s entry fee.
- Host a wine tasting evening - Host a wine tasting evening with work colleagues or friends. Ask a local off-licence or supermarket to donate the wine and then charge an entrance fee or charge per taste!
