Why run for us?

"I ran for The Migraine Trust because I've suffered migraines since I was a teenager, and I feel they are still totally misunderstood. People assume it's just a bad headache, they don't seem to get how totally debilitating they can be, and I'd love to think that my small amount of fundraising could help work towards finding that magic cure! The run was actually good fun, and heading up to Buckingham Palace along the Mall behind someone dressed as the Pink Panther was something I’ll remember forever!" - Diana

Running / walking events:

Each year, we have guaranteed places for a range of running and/or walking events.  If you would like a Migraine Trust place then all we ask in return is for you to pledge to reach a sponsorship target.  Click on the fundraising event below that suits you or visit our events calendar to see all the fundraising events we have coming up.

Can't see the right fundraising event for you?  Don't worry!  You can enter an event of your choice independently and still use it to raise sponsorship for The Migraine Trust.

We offer all our fundraisers a fundraising pack and support from our Fundraising team.

Application details can be found by following the links to each event.  Contact our Fundraising team now to discuss your fundraising ideas.

Why not sponsor one of our runners online?

Many of our runners raise sponsorship for The Migraine Trust online using the JustGiving charity website.  If you would like to sponsor one of our current runners and even send them a personal message of support, then please visit:

Worried that exercise might make your migraine worse?

You might be worried that physical activity could make your migraine worse, as many people have noted exercise can be a trigger for migraine.  However, research suggests that moderate aerobic exercise can have a therapeutic effect on migraine possibly reducing the frequency and severity of migraine attacks.

Benefits of exercise include reducing stress, improving the quality of sleep patterns and producing a feeling of well being.  Exercise also stimulates your body to release natural pain controlling chemicals and natural anti-depressant chemicals.  Embarking on a well planned exercise program could lead to better management of your condition and a possible reduction of medication.
