Use of healthcare technology by people with migraine

Participants sought for interview or focus group study investigating attitudes to digital health technology

What is the purpose of the study?

A team at the University Hospital Southampton is researching the use of digital technology in the promotion and delivery of healthcare for people with migraine.  They would like to speak to people with migraine, and those who provide care or support to somebody with migraine, about what they think of digital health technology and how it could be improved.

Who can take part?

For people with migraine:

  • A history of experiencing migraine
  • Aged 18 years and over
  • Able to take part in either a telephone or online interview or online focus group
  • Able to provide written informed consent to participant in the study

For people who provide care or support to somebody with migraine:

  • Provide care or support to somebody with a history of experiencing migraine
  • Aged 18 years and over
  • Able to take part in either a telephone or online interview or online focus group
  • Able to provide written informed consent to participate in the study

What will the study involve?

The study will involve taking part in either a telephone or online interview or an online focus group. Participants can choose whether they prefer to participate in an interview or focus group. It is anticipated that interviews will last for between 30 and 45 minutes while focus groups for up to 60 minutes.

Where does the study take place?

The University Hospital Southampton is organising the research.  Interviews will be conducted either over the telephone or online, while focus groups will be conducted online.
