MTIS biennial symposia

We host an international symposium every two years to support academic progress

As part of our commitment to advancing migraine research, we have been organising gatherings of scientists since 1966 when the first of a continuous series of biennial London symposia was held. These research meetings became international symposia in 1976 and for many years were the only European specialist forum at which research findings could be presented and discussed.

The 17th Migraine Trust International Symposium (MTIS) will take place in London from 6-9 September 2018. MTIS brings together the world’s leading experts on migraine and headache to share the latest research findings and to discuss current trends in treatment and prevention. MTIS takes place every two years to enhance international researchers’ scientific knowledge and promote a better understanding of migraine through debate and exchange of ideas.

From 2008 to 2016 there were biennial EHMTIC events (European Headache and Migraine Trust International Congress) instead of MTIS. EHMTIC was jointly organised by The Migraine Trust and the European Headache Federation.
